Chrissy Teigen, a model and television personality, announced on Wednesday that she and her musician husband, John Legend, are expecting their first child together.
She announced the birth of their second child with an Instagram photo in which she flaunted her growing baby bulge. “So far, everything is great and gorgeous, and I’m feeling positive and amazing,” she later added.
Teigen and Legend have been married for nearly nine years and have two children, Luna and Miles.
Teigen, 36, stated, “The previous few years have been a flurry of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our house and hearts again.” She appeared to be referring to her miscarriage in 2020.
Teigen was open about her miscarriage after it ended, detailing her and her husband’s profound disbelief and anguish. Despite the fact that 10 to 25% of all known pregnancies end in miscarriage, her decision to share the news was seen as a blow against a long-standing culture of silence surrounding pregnancy loss. According to the American Pregnancy Association, miscarriage occurs in 10-25 percent of all pregnancies.
The couple previously stated that in vitro fertilisation was used to conceive their first two children. Teigen revealed on Wednesday that she and her husband are expecting their third child “1 billion injections later.”
Teigan, she said, was hesitant to make the pregnancy announcement.
“At every appointment, I tell myself, ‘OK, if it’s healthy today, I’ll announce,’ but then I hear a heartbeat and decide I’m still too scared,” she said. “I’ve said to myself before every appointment, ‘OK, if it’s healthy today, I’ll announce.'”
“OK phew, it’s been so difficult keeping this in for such a long time!” she wrote later.
