The bus, which covered the route between the Amazonian cities of Macau and Taisha, fell through a ravine in the Colorado River sector, in the Morona Santiago province, in southeastern Ecuador.
The ECU-911 reported in a statement that personnel and resources from the Fire Department from several nearby cities, such as Morona, Taisha, and Huamboya, attended the emergency, as well as units from the Ministry of Public Health and the Police.
A preliminary report indicates that so far there have been nine deaths, as well as 16 injuries (8 men and 8 women, between minors and adults), who were transferred to health homes in the city of Macau, the capital of the province. of Morona Santiago.
