You need to present your credentials before being allowed to access Christine Nagel’s office. This expansive plateau, which she and her helper Richard share on the ninth and top floor of a building on rue de Penthièvre in the center of Paris (the headquarters of Hermès’ Beauty and Perfume companies), is only accessible by them. Richard is the only one who has the key.
The panorama that can be seen from the terrace is stunning: on one side is the Grand Palais and the Eiffel Tower, and on the other side are Saint-Augustin, Montmartre, Sacré-Coeur, and the blades of the Moulin de la Galette. “Ever since I moved in here a few months ago, I have daydreamed about putting in a spyglass, but for the time being, I am pleased to look at the hidden gardens that are growing on the neighboring terraces.”
