Discussions are still ongoing even though the transfer of ownership of Olympique Lyonnais was scheduled to be finalized this coming Friday.
On Friday evening, discussions over the sale of OL Groupe, the holding company that oversees the Olympique Lyonnais football club, to American billionaire John Textor were still ongoing. Textor is currently the majority shareholder in OL Groupe.
It was hoped that the acquisition of OLG would be finalized on Friday; however, there was no press release issued during the day to formalize a definitive agreement. As a result, it is impossible to rule out the possibility that an imminent announcement will be made regarding a new postponement of the operation.
On Friday evening, it was revealed by sources acquainted with the situation that conversations were continuing about this buyout, which is estimated to be worth around 800 million euros.

On September 30, it was reported that the event will be delayed initially. Although the delay was official because of a sequence of technical stages that needed to be completed, it caused some concerns about the outcome of the operation.
Olympique Lyonnais, which has never wavered in its faith in the proposed takeover by Eagle Football, the group controlled by Textor, asked on Wednesday for the suspension of OLG action. Olympique Lyonnais has always maintained its confidence in the proposed takeover “according to a press release issued by the club, “pending publication of a press release relating to the transaction with Eagle Football.”
Despite this, Jean-Michel Aulas had stated during a press briefing held on October 10 that the sale would go through “concluded (…) without any conditions of suspense “And that it would be” officially purchased on the 21st of October.
