In her first interview since a jury ruled against her, Amber Heard accused Johnny Depp and her legal team of “reimagining” the couple’s protracted legal battle.
On Thursday afternoon, a segment of Depp’s interview with NBC’s Savannah Guthrie, which will broadcast in full on Dateline on Friday, was published on Peacock, in which Depp’s team responded to Heard’s outburst.
“It’s regrettable that, while Johnny is trying to go on with his life, the defendant and her team are rehashing, reinventing, and re-litigating topics that have already been determined by the court and a verdict that was decisively reached in Johnny’s favour by a jury,” his team said.
It came after an unnamed juror revealed that Heard’s “ice-cold” evidence was misinterpreted by the panel as “crocodile tears.”
Additionally, he told Good Morning America that the jury concluded her emotional testimony “didn’t stack up” and that she was the “aggressor” in the couple’s tragic relationship.
Heard said she will stand by her statement “to my dying day” and that she paid the price for “telling truth to power” in segments of her interview that aired on Today earlier this week.
